HISTORICAL MARKERS

Historical Markers Installed by the Historical Society

A Napoleon Company donated one plaque a year to the Henry County Historical Society for several years to allow us to recognize public historic sites in Henry County. These markers and sites include:
1. 1999-Oak Tree (Washington Twp.)
2. 2000-Giffey Hall (Ridgeville Twp.)
3. 2001-West Hope Bible Church (Richfield Twp.)
4. 2002-Sacred Heart Church (Pleasant Twp.).

In addition, the Henry County Historical Society a number of years ago placed a plaque on the United Methodist Church in Florida, Ohio, which is the oldest continuous congregation in Henry County.

The Historical Society has also installed three Ohio History Connection Markers through the State of Ohio Remarkable Ohio program.

1. Camp Latty Marker near the entrance to Ritter Park in Napoleon, Ohio.
2. Canal Waterfront District located in front of the Napoleon City Building.
3. Napoleon’s First Cemetery located on Old U.S. Route 424 near Buckeye Building Solutions
